Alamo Legacy & Missions Association

Organized in 1995, ALMA promotes the varied and rich culture of San Antonioand Texas. The Alamo Defenders Descendants Association unites in fellowship the linealand lateral descendants of the Alamo Defenders,couriers,scouts and survivors.We promote,preserve and exchange historical data on the history of theAlamo and perpetuate the memory of its defenders. The organization aidsin the preservation and marking of Alamo related sites. We are a non-profitorganization and non-political excepting where it effects the historicpreservation and interpretation of the Alamo. Established 1994.

The Daughters of the Republic of TexasLibrary is part of the Alamo historical complex in San Antonio, Texas.The library has been developed and is supported and maintained by the Daughtersof the Republic of Texas for the use of all researchers. The non-circulatingcollections pertain to the history of Texas, San Antonio, and the Alamo. 

The Sons of the Republicof Texas
Seeks to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women whosettled Texas and won its independence through great personal sacrificeand dedication to the cause of freedom; Encourages historical research,fosters preservation of documents and relics of Texana, and recommendsthe publication of original records as well as biographical and other historicalworks based on the Republic of Texas. CanaryIslands Descendants of San Antonio Texas
At eleven o'clock on the morning of March 9th, 1731,sixteen families(56 people) from the Canary Islands arrived at the Presidio of San Antoniode Bejar in the Province of Texas. By royal decree of the King of Spain,they founded La Villa de San Fernando (now the city of San Antonio) andestablished the first civil government in Texas.
